Robo 3D Cover Fastener Alternative
prusaprinters

This is an alternative for fastening your Robo 3D cover. Stock comes with screws and are a pain to grab a large phillips screwdriver each time to remove. I designed these hex bolt covers to snap on 6mmx16mm coarse hex cap bolt. Makes it very easy to just hand tighten and remove. I haven't found a need for any glue, but you might want to add a dab for long term use. I have been using these for a couple months now without any issue. Thought I would share in case anyone else feels the stock screws are a pain to deal with. Enjoy and happy printing!

Where I got my bolts (Menards). These are single packs so you will need 4. Should be able to find at any hardware store near you as well. Menards is just down the street from me.

http://www.menards.com/main/p-1444440157823-c-8730.htm?tid=-6655425331097741352

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2 mm (200 microns)

Infill:

15%

Notes:

Used Cura 15.04 set to 60mm/sec to print. Printed all 4 at once without any issue.

Post-Printing

May need to hit the inner edge lightly with a small file. I used a pliers to press the bolt head in a little at a time until flush.

Category: 3D Printer Accessories
