Robo 3D Chimera Blower
thingiverse
This is a blower upgrade installed on my Robo 3D, which works amazingly well for me. The two standard fans were too weak, so I decided to install these blowers on my printers instead - they're relatively inexpensive on eBay. I've attached a .step file in case you want to make any changes to it. Mike Kelly deserves thanks for making .step files of the carriage and Chimera available, which makes working on the shroud much easier. The required hardware is (5) 6/32 screws and the fan itself - one fan is sufficient, so I don't think I'll consider making one for the other side. I'm planning to work on a similar upgrade for the E3D V6 soon, hopefully it will be feasible. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 150-200 Infill: 30 Notes: I printed parts using PLA at around 45mm/s, with a brim for the shroud to increase adhesion. The first shroud I printed was made using Mike's shrouds, but I re-printed it using a new shroud for better quality. How I Designed This: I downloaded Mike Kelly's .step files of Chimera carriage and built the shroud around it. Mike's files are available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:671881
