Robo 3D Bowden Adapter with Chain Attachment
thingiverse
Could not find a bowden adapter that fit my E3d Lite6 perfectly, so I took matters into my own hands and created one from scratch. It boasts a cable chain attachment that should seamlessly integrate with the ones designed for the Robo. Inspired by Mike Kelly's ingenious bowden adapter: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:285851 When printed on its long flat sides, it shouldn't require any support. It attaches to the X-Carriage using the original bolts. A locking wedge secures itself with two M4x25 machine screws. The Cable Chain X-Anchor can be easily slid onto the rail mount to anchor cables to the assembly. This shortens the cable chain and allows all wires on the right side of the machine to be neatly bundled together. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Printed in Taulman Tech-G Custom Section Output and testing notes: The print didn't turn out perfectly, I suspect it's because I was running low on a roll and the tension increased accordingly. Nonetheless, it's fully functional and I'll provide an update once the parts arrive and I'm able to install them. Update 7/8/16: I thoroughly inspected the printer and tested the hotend fit. It fits remarkably well but sits slightly lower than with the stock extruder. Not a significant issue, but most fans designed for the original carriage will blow directly on the heat block. This isn't ideal so I'll upload V2.0 shortly to raise it to standard height on the carriage. Update 7/8/16: Version 2.0 has been uploaded. It should align with available cooling fans better. I'll test this ASAP and update the log. Update 7/18/16: Version 2.0 works flawlessly. I've added some pictures of mine. Update 8/6/16: I've printed several items using this setup and see no reason for further development at this point. I'm changing its status to finalized. If you encounter any problems or have suggestions, please let me know and I'll reopen dev. Until then, happy printing!
