Robby the Robot

This is a 1:9 scale replica of Robby the Robot, who originally appeared in the 1956 science fiction film "Forbidden Planet". He went on to make numerous other films and TV shows. For more information, check out this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_the_Robot The model stands approximately 240mm (9.5") tall when assembled. Assembly requires glue, and a bit of paint is recommended to add some details. I didn't create the original model but modified it into a 3D-printable kit that has been floating around the internet for several years. I used the OBJ mesh from Foundation 3D uploaded by Starbase1, available at http://www.foundation3d.com/index.php?categoryid=38&p13_sectionid=1&p13_fileid=1792 The arms can be pressed into their sockets to change the pose, so gluing them is not recommended. I used translucent blue PLA for the "voice light" and clear PLA for the dome. The rest of the model was printed in silver metallic PLA. Note that the actual robot has a darker metallic color, so you may want to consider this when building it. How I Designed This: I used MeshMixer to break down the model into parts, simplify some features, and turn them into solid parts ready for printing.
