A Robbie the Robot knockoff made for small hands and designed to withstand rough play when constructed using three shells. Assemble the arms/chest by gluing them together; this allows for a single print without supports, making scaling easier. Gluing is more convenient than removing support structures. This model was created in Truespace 5. For an improved version, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31063. It prints as a single piece and closely resembles the movie original. Instructions for assembly include slight sanding of the chest/arms for a snug fit and using acetone/ABS goop for gluing. The print size was 145mm tall, printed with 0% infill, three shells, and a raft. Positives included no separation cracks, while negatives were minor holes in the top of the head, feet, and chest-plate. These imperfections were easily fixed using ABS/acetone goop. Your preferences may differ regarding infill settings, but the 0% infill was chosen to avoid separation cracks.
