Road to 2020: Pokey Minch

The ninth figure of the Road To 2020: HNV lineup is Pokey Minch, from the cult classic Earthbound. Making his debut in 1994, this quirky turn-based RPG was created by Shigesato Itoi. As Ness' next-door neighbor, Pokey gradually turned against him, joining forces with the evil Giygas instead. His ambition to rise through the ranks of power led him to seek out the source of all evil throughout the game. For the design, I aimed to capture the clay aesthetic of the original game manual concept art using pixel renditions as a guide. The figure is based on his intense confrontation with Ness in Earthbound, where he serves as Giygas' loyal accomplice. Notable appearances include Mother 2: Earthbound (1994), Mother 3 (2006), and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008).
