We are a group of volunteers based in France, in the region Grand Est. We have been working tirelessly to protect our healthcare professionals in this fight against COVID-19. Initially, we produced and made available a unique visor model, chosen by the CHU de Strasbourg hospital. Although this model was extremely well-studied, comfortable, and suitable for intense use like that of hospital personnel, it had two flaws: it required an elastic maintenance strap and took a very long time to print, over 3 hours and 30 minutes. That's why we modeled a version that solves both the printing time problem, between 45 minutes and 1 hour depending on the machines, keeps comfort for its user, and no longer needs an elastic strap. To preserve compatibility with visors produced previously, we kept the same fixation feet of the original model; it corresponds to the distance of a standard Prusa visor. Our goal is to protect as many people as possible who are at risk of contamination, not just in Grand Est but nationwide. That's why we're sharing and making the source file open so you can use it ethically and offer this model for free. Any commercial reproduction will be subject to prosecution from the Boucliers Fablab collective. So that you can provide a reliable, stable, comfortable, REUSABLE, and especially DISINFECTABLE model, we need your support, however you choose to do it, as long as you don't remain inactive in the face of this crisis. Helping us in this fight, we need you to come to the aid of our caregivers. www.boucliersfablab.org contact@boucliersfablab.org https://www.leetchi.com/c/covid-19-boucliers-fablab3d
