A custom-designed valve can conserve water by connecting to common plumbing supply pipes in a household, diverting half of it to storage. Fitted with threaded ends for standard 1/2in. pipes, users can control the diversion level. With a fully open valve, water flows normally, but when closed, half is redirected. The intricate internal shape necessitates 3D printing for the main body and blockage arm.
