RK17 A00032 Copper tube (Neck)
sketchfab
RK17 A00032 is a significant section of copper tube unearthed during the archaeological excavation of the Rooswijk in 2017. In 2017 and 2018, an international team of maritime archaeologists successfully excavated the centuries-old shipwreck of the Rooswijk, a Dutch East India Company (VOC) vessel that tragically sank on the perilous Goodwin Sands in January 1740 off England's treacherous coast. Following each excavation campaign, post-excavation work began immediately, focusing on ex-situ research, the preservation and detailed analysis of the artifacts, and will continue until the project reaches its scheduled conclusion. The #Rooswijk1740 project is generously funded and expertly led by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (Ministry of Education, Science and Culture), in close collaboration with Historic England and UK-contractor MSDS Marine.
