RK17 A00029 is a vital piece of history unearthed during the Rooswijk archaeological excavation in 2017. In 2016, Dutch and British archaeologists conducted a thorough survey on the site of the ill-fated Dutch East Indiaman Rooswijk, revealing a high-risk situation that needed immediate attention. To take action, a collaborative team consisting of experts from Historic England and the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) joined forces to undertake an archaeological excavation in the summer of 2017.
