RK17 A00019 is a remarkably well-preserved onion bottle unearthed during the archaeological excavation of the Rooswijk in 2017. In 2016, Dutch and British archaeologists conducted a thorough survey on the site of the ill-fated Dutch East Indiaman Rooswijk, revealing it was on the brink of disaster. To mitigate this, a team consisting of experts from Historic England and the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) joined forces to undertake an ambitious archaeological excavation during the summer of 2017.
