I design small boxes that fit RJ45 punch-down sockets, typically with one or two cable holes. This device helps create Ethernet economizers where two 100Mbit Ethernet devices can be transmitted over a single four-pair cable. An economizer is necessary at each end of the connection. Commercial economizers usually combine two sockets into one plug. I needed to reverse this design, creating a box with two plugs that fit into one socket to minimize the number of Ethernet stub cables and connectors required.
