rj45 Ethernet Keystone Surface Mount for Floor or Desk
thingiverse
I created a custom solution to protect my 50-foot cable as it routed through my house to my computer, since I couldn't find a suitable product on the market. This DIY project resulted in a raised floor-mounted RJ45 keystone jack for Ethernet cables. You can also use this design with a desk to have a mounted Ethernet jack on top of your workspace. To build this mount, you'll need a female-to-female RJ45 inline coupler keystone jack. I sourced the jacks from Amazon through [AMPCOM CAT6 RJ45 Inline Coupler Keystone Jack, Shielded Female to Female](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C4XZNQB/). The base of the mount features a 19mm diameter hole in my wood floor, allowing my Ethernet cable to pass through. I designed and printed the mount, then inserted the keystone jack into it, attached the existing cable, and secured it to the floor. This design enables the dual RJ45 adapter to sit entirely within the mount and above the mounting surface, as evident from the photos.
