These models can be integrated into a project box to add external connectivity using a cheap and easy to find connector. Two models of pins holders are easy to find. The one in a box and the one in a wall plate. This is how I named both kinds of sockets based on the type of pins holder used. The RJ-9 Dupont is experimental, in my personal tests it works. But contacts can be unstable and may require finer adjustment.
