Rivets and Hinges

In need of vitamins or securing a fan duct? I tried PLA rivets and it worked! To make one, cut a piece of filament, heat one end and press onto the surface (e.g., glass tabletop). Position it in the items to be joined, then apply heat only to the rivet while pressing the second face flat with a metal object. These rivets are strong, lightweight, cheap, and quick! Plus, they can also serve as hinge pins - just drill 3mm holes and rivet at each hinge. An STL file is provided, but only because Thingiverse required it.
