This is the concept model based on the photos. The 5.5 x 5.5 steel columns appeared too thin and detracted from the inside of the house's appearance. The stone wrap ties in perfectly with the facade of the home. A 5.5 x 16 header beam runs along the side of the house, while a 3.5 x 12 beam is positioned on the exterior. Custom welded brackets will support the laminated beams from the steel columns. I believe a perimeter grade beam thickened at the footings would be ideal for this construction, allowing the base footing to utilize J-anchor bolts or drilled and epoxied anchors without adding stress to the stained concrete flooring.
