Hello, I used to run a 3D printed, handmade fishing lure business online called RitchieTackle. I made big lures for big fish like Musky or Walleye. It was a niche market I targeted. Today, I'm focusing on other things so I'm releasing my personal collection of exclusive designs for you all to have and use! In order to make a good 3D printed fishing lure with the action you expect, you have to balance the lure. And that is harder than you might expect. Everything you do from your choice of filament, infill, hook size or weight, bill size, all are factors in with getting that balance perfect.Unfortunately, I no longer have my formulas to balance each lure... I can't find them. I liquidated this business and they're gone. Sorry. Notes: I cut and used lead 00 buckshot shotgun shells as weights. On some models, you can install the weight after the print. Some models, you must insert the weights while it prints. I had the gcode alert me and I'd just drop in some lead in the pocket with needle nose pliers. The hooks I used were #6, #5/0, and #7/0 trebles. For models that require bills, I'd recommend using polycarbonate acrylic. I had some normal acrylic and it would break or crack with cold water so avoid that if possible. For the eyes, I used the larger sized Goggly Eyes just as a mold. They can be found in almost every dollar or hobbyist store. I cut the backing off them then added a drop of black paint for the puple. After that is dry, I'd add whatever glitter or colors for the background of the eye. For the rattle, I used small glass beads. Some models have a dedicated compartment for them. Some models have the beads with the weight. You can use BBs as well, but the sound is kind of dull. Pro tip: Print with ABS if you expect a smooth lure. Dissolve it in acetone. Sand and dissolve it again. Sanding a PLA lure was time consuming and messy - even with a dremel. I would not recommend using PLA.
