Here's my DIY ripple tank for under a fiver. You don't need much, but the total cost comes out to be less than fifteen pounds - perfect for schools on a tight budget that can't afford those pricey riple tanks. Materials: Clear A4 perspex DC motor Tool clip 2 x Extension springs 2 x 4mm banana sockets 4 x hooks 2 x M5 round headed bolts You can also pick up an LED stroboscope for under a tenner at Maplin Electronics.
