Companion project to my other parametric configurable FPV designs:| O3 Pod | O3 Frame | Action2, 3+4 | AcePro | GoPro Mini | Hero 9-12 | Antenna Mount |Go see this project on printables for more example files, all nicely organized by manufacturer! My Newest Bando-Safe DesignOnly basic 10º versions are uploaded here. Everything else is made *on-demand***! All ND filter versions, tilt options, positioning, vertical/horizontal variations** are made on-demand when you message me:Join my 3D Design discord! All requests are optionally donation-supported, on-demand!Response within 24h!Please read the "steps" below first! Please, no dms. They're much harder to organize, reply-to and will take a few weeks.Use my discord!Thingiverse page is WIPMax FOV DesignJust like all other FPV designs in my profile, this is designed by modeling the FOV of the camera! Maximum protection, nothing in view. This is part of my on-demand alive 3D design projects. See the table above and! I've made thousands of designs and new friends for pilots all across the globe.Maximum protection, bando-bash all day and keep it pretty! Need a standard gopro-style attachment version? I can make that for you as well! It's not remotely possible to upload every tilt for every frame with each ND option and each positioning. That would be thousands of files.. and they change every time I get new feedback. My designs are alive, they're always evolving. Plus it's great hearing from people and seeing the builds I helped make.Get the version configured for you: just follow the steps!Step 1: Pick your Camera!Almost any GoPro Hero! Each of these is slightly different and designed special:Hero 5 - 6Hero 7Hero 8Hero 9 - 10Hero 11 (different FOV from the 9-10)Hero 11 mini (has its own design page)Hero 12 - 13 (unique FOV, different than the hero11)Hero 4k 2024 (brand new design!)Step 2: Pick your quad(s)What quad you got?? I've made a highly flexible, adaptive system, with over 125 different bases, new ones every day. See the files on my Action2 design for some common ones!Step 3: Pick your uptilt angle(s)Cinewhoops: 10-20ºCinematic/Long Range: 20ºFreestyle: 25-35ºRacing: 40º+Step 4: Pick your ND Filter (or none!)Badass all-around TBS-style plate-glass2.5mm thick filters [tbs site] Also compatible with the similar 2.5mm thick Camera Butter insert filters.Held in from top and bottom notches, inserted from either side. Also works great without filters (and even provides extra protection over no-ND option). The most flexible option!Optional: overkill TBS-styleIt's bigger, heavier, sometimes less durable since it's got a dedicated slot.Makes camera install/removal much more difficult.Lens-replacement styleThese don't need anything special, just replace the lens with a darker one!Over-Lens NDsWorks.. just gigantic, less protective, and usually expensive. Leaves a huge gap when filming without the NDAll ND versions/tilts are configured on-demand! See Step 8!Step 5: Camera PositioningStandardProps probably in viewFull size underbelt slot (see below. adds extra protection option and reduces vibration / image jello)Your quad's frame takes head-on impacts, camera hits second.ForwardProps hidden (depending on frame)Small underbelt slot (if any)Camera is more exposed. Less great for bando bashing.. but also this mount offers lots of protection.Extra ForwardProps definitely hiddenNo underbelt slot option.Camera is very exposed out-front. Probably not best for bando bashing but great for cinematic.Step 6: Bolts & Base OptionsBase Thickness:Standard is now 3.4mm thick. Thick is 4mmBolt style:Standard size for M3 bolts is a 6mm diameter bolt-head.Perfect for nearly all M3 bolts and plenty strong.Big-Boltz, for M3 bolts, has a 8mm diameter bolt head.Great for things like these FPV Countersunk Washers if you want extra strength/flair.Shoulder-bolts option. Great for products like the QuadMula PS-3 Spacers that come with the Quadmula frames.Step 7: Extra configuration optionsX-Offset: Make the lens more centered over the FPV camera. Many pilots prefer this.. I support it!Underbelt slot allows for an optional battery strap around the camera for extra ejection protection and slightly more front-end hit protection. Also seems to really reduce jello by allowing for a smaller area for vibration transmission to pass through. Great! Not included by default on standard mounts.Extra base thicknessBeware: older designs uploaded here are only 2.2mm!Standard is now 3.4mm thick. Ultra thick is 4mm thick.Different camera wall sizeStep 8: Request the STL!Send me a message on discord! Haven't found a better way to get y'all your STLs yet! Everything is generated on-demand with the settings you ask for. Why?The STLs in the 'files' section are outdated. I can't possibly keep re-exporting, uploading, and organizing 80+ STLs after each tweak! They don't have the configuration you want. ND filters? Angle that's not 25º? Underbelt option? Thicker base?I can't possibly upload all the variations! So request it! I've set up my discord as a cool queue system. I'll get you your custom STL in less than 24h, usually right away.Step 9: PRINT THE LCD PROTECTORPrint the back glass protector 0.8mm.stl in something rigid (like PLA) and glue it into the recessed spot on the back of the mount. Why? In hard crashes the battery can crack the LCD through several mm of TPU since the force isn't distributed by the flexible material. It needs a 'rigid TPU sandwich'! It's the light and strong way to protect your LCD!Cracked LCDs can happen with insanely hard hits. My "rigid TPU sandwich" only goes so far. Fill any gap between your battery and camera with foam.. it'll save your battery and your LCD. Step 10: Print the MountPrint with TPU filament, slowlyUse tree support if your slicer supports itBest printed on its side (as oriented in the STL).Use 2 perimeter walls for most setups. 3 walls for bando bashing.Infill: Use 20 - 30% cubic infill15 - 20% for most setups25 - 30% infill for bando bashingReally don't go above 30% infill, it just adds extra weight but no strength benefit. Also look at the makes section for other users' tips!Step 10: Print the Back LCD Wedge (new rev 6+!)New Modular LCD / Battery Protection Wedge! Keep your LCD and battery in-tact, even after huge direct-hit crashes. My new modular wedge design slots into the back of the mount and fills the gap between the camera and your battery.Pardon the photos showing my Action2 Mount design. Still need some new photos of this cam!The new design prints in two parts. Easy access to the rear bolts! Easy weight savings for long range flights! Wedge-specific print settings:Also print in TPUJust 1 perimeter wall! More is wasteful and overkill for this part.Use Cubic infill patternBetween 16 - 26% infill depending on how fast you're flying.Optionally: zero top/bottom layers.. saves weight and looks pretty cool. Also look at the makes section for other users' tips!Step 11: Cut the USB/SD door!To aid in printing the side USB/SD door is kept connected but with thin walls. If you'd like access to that side door while inside the case then two cuts (colored in red) work in tandem with a built-in hinge area to allow easy opening! Step 12: Post your makes! Please post 'em! Really! Take a cameraphone photo with your dope color matched mount in all its glory and show it off! Plus it really helps get this design out there to the worldThat's it! Go fly!Again: BEWARE, what's uploaded here is OUTDATED FASTSeriously. I just can't keep re-uploading and categorizing 120+ STLs. Tweaks are always happening based on feedback. Thicker base, more material here, less there, on and on. So:Want the Latest Version? Missing your Quad? ND Filters?Message me! discord! The 120+ mount designs I've uploaded here (see files!) are updated after every tidbit of feedback I get and are all already out-of-date. Message me for the latest version!New quads/variations for folks all the time. I may already have the one you need. It's really zero trouble, I can export configurations on my phone and send them over instantly. What sort of frames are supported?Classic designs from the Apex by ImpulseRC, to the Quadmula Siren, and to the Y6 by Freelon and everything in-betweenOpen source designs like the OpenRacerfor racing and the TBS Source-One v1, v2, and v3 for freestyleFamily designs where one manufacturer has a common bolt-pattern for all their quads: AOS (AOS5, LR5, UL5, AOS7, etc), iFlight (XL5/Nazgul, SL5/Cidora, F5D-Evoque)Anti-family manufacturers. Really! Take a cameraphone photo with your dope color matched mount in all its glory and show it off! Plus it really helps get this design out there to the world.Sharing & License & StuffThe LAST thing I want to do is restrict anyone from sharing. But. PLEASE share links to this printables page, not the STLs. Here's why:This is under active development. The STLs WILL CHANGE and get better. The documentation is really important here, and I'm sure there's stuff I'll be adding as feedback comes in.The community is important, I want people to reach out and join the discord not download some STLs and go it alone. It's just a super dick move to repost designer's stuff. I've spent a long time making, testing, and documenting this and my only reward is that little stupid 'like' counter, download counter, and photos/stories from users. DON'T DEPRIVE ME OF MY ONE SENSE OF SELF WORTHThe actual license is Creative Commons (4.0 International License) Attribution---Noncommercial---No Derivatives. If you'd like to print this commercially then reach out to me with a direct-message on discord and we can talk. Flying professionally using my designs is fine-- though please do consider donating to support my work!RemixingPlease chat with me in my discord server before making or posting any remixes. 99% of remixes have been manual recreations of things I don't want posted and that take me 20s to make for you directly. Save yourself the trouble and me the heartache.
