In the Rio 21 Design Lapel Pin, the upper section concludes with a coil measuring 352º before connecting to the base. This innovative design was only achievable through additive manufacturing techniques. The spring-like coil has been successfully tested in an FFF machine and could also be produced using SLS or FFF with soluble support. Future plans involve creating a second version tailored for FFF production, aiming to match the functionality of a three-part piece that requires assembly while being ready right off the machine.
