Ring-Rope-Puzzel 1
thingiverse
A ring-rope puzzle that's a real brain-twister! One must release the ring without (of course!) cutting the rope. I stumbled upon a similar puzzle called "Pillar and Ring Puzzle," which has the same solution as this one. If you can't figure it out yourself, just search for instructions online. This puzzle can be printed using a single STL file. You might need to add supports for the small balls, but if not, you can print each component separately: one thing, one ring, two boxes, and two balls make up a complete set. The SCAD file is included, allowing you to adjust the dimensions of the puzzle. Keep in mind that all elements depend on the inner and outer diameter of the ring; otherwise, the puzzle can't be solved. After printing, I used a drill to clean out any printing irregularities from the holes. The rope's length doesn't matter, but the free end between the two boxes should be at least three ring diameters. I used electrical wire because it has the right diameter and I could easily fix the ends with some solder. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.4mm Infill: 10% Notes: You might need to add supports for the two small balls, although they seem to print without them just fine.
