One of my favorite hobbies is streaming on Twitch. Not only does it involve playing video games, but it also lets me indulge my A/V nerd side with getting the setup just right. The computer and actual gaming side of things were easy - but for my office set up, getting the lighting right for being on camera was a little tricky. I'm stuck in a dark corner, with windows directly behind me. I needed something bright enough in front of me to offset the natural light without washing me out entirely. For the lights, I decided to try some cheap-o Amazon "umbrella" lights - low cost, but bright because of the use of LEDs. These are the exact lights I went with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZBKZAU/ Not the highest quality, but very inexpensive. And with some knowledge of soldering, they're as reliable as something much more costly. The problem was that I didn't really have any way to mount them where they needed to go. This is where the print comes in. These are designed to sit on my wall-mounted speakers (one on each side) - the arm tilts down at just the right angle. The lights essentially just pop onto the end of the arm, and the arm slides into the base. The arm could be easily altered (or a new one made entirely) to fit any number of different set ups. There's a cutout in the base for a counterweight - if you're using the same light, you'll want about a 1lb (16oz) weight. Anything less and the light will tip forward. In the photo, I'm using a can of soda, but where the stands are setup in my office, I'm using a piece of steel cut into a 57mm circle. You can use really anything you want for a counterweight, as long as it weighs enough. I finished off the design with some rubber non-slip feet. Thanks for checking this out, and hopefully it can help you out too!
