Ring Floodlight / Spotlight Cam - Rain Drip Cover
thingiverse
So I drew inspiration for this cover from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3183706. I had been searching for a solution to stop the rain drips on my Ring Floodlight camera lens for some time. Every time it rained, it triggered the motion alert on my phone. When I first saw the original design here, it inspired me to create my own version. The original worried me that with high winds, it might be blown off our floodlight camera installation gets hit by pretty strong gusts. For this one, I redesigned the cover with longer friction holders and tried to direct the rain off to the sides of the lens. After some testing in heavy rains, it seems like no real redirection will work though lighter rains and the redirection works fine. This has only been tested in rain; it doesn't snow where I live so unable to test in snow. I printed this in PLA only since I didn't have PETG or ABS on hand. Not sure how long or if it will even last but figured I could just print a new one in PETG or ABS if needed. I know I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to CAD; so, I've included my Fusion 360 file for anyone who wants to do their own modifications to this cover. Good luck and let me know if you've made this.
