If you're looking for a more substantial feel and enhanced performance in your modified ring file tool, this tweak is worth considering. I enhanced my standard run-of-the-mill ring file tool with the specified plates and hardware. The dial indicator bracket was printed with 100% infill to prevent warping. It still felt somewhat spongy but still delivered impressive results. This modification has been designed to mount in various orientations, allowing you to customize its setup according to your preference. For instance, the dial indicator can be mounted on either side. I have numerous holes in the bottom plate, but only those that match your ring file and chosen orientation are necessary. I fabricated the plates out of aluminum, though I wonder if they could be cut from 1/4" acrylic using a Glowforge.
