The design requires users to plug in an ethernet cable before pushing the doorbell into the box and securing it with screws - make sure to leave some extra space for varying cable widths. This product is perfect for outdoor use, but keep in mind that you'll likely want to paint or clearcoat it to match your exterior decor. To attach this to the border around your door, I recommend using deck screws for a secure hold.
