As I attempted to install the Ring doorbell, replacing my old doorbell, I encountered a challenge - the Ring's backplate wouldn't fit over an existing single-gang outlet. To overcome this issue, I designed and created a custom adapter plate that can be installed directly over the existing outlet, complete with pre-drilled holes to ensure the Ring's backplate is perfectly centered and secure.
