Ring-3 I-beam
cults3d
This is a model of a ring I'm proposing for a jewelry class where we'll need at least three solders on board. I figured the curved I-beam from a building would bring an interesting narrative to the jewelry world, one that showcases complex physics in relatively unseen things. Of course, I-beams can't actually bend this way, so I thought that would be a cool twist. WINNER! This is the one! I'll be crafting it from sterling and copper. My professor loved the narrative I'm pushing and how I'm blending materials to make something unique. He even mentioned that the devil's in the details, which means soldering and polishing are my top priorities right now. Depending on how these come out, I might need to adjust the sizing. I'll have finished photos up by July 11, so check back then!
