Ring 2 Doorbell custom mounting plate
thingiverse
This is my initial foray into 3D creation, sparked by a friend's request for a custom mount tailored specifically for his new Ring Doorbell model. His goal is to seamlessly remove it from the house when he decides to sell without causing any damage to the property. I carefully aligned the recessed mounting holes with those of his existing doorbell and cut out a space for the wood trim piece protruding around the door frame, measuring 3 mm in depth by 11.3 mm in width. The custom plate was designed to be thick enough that only the Ring's mounting screws go into it, providing a secure hold without damaging the surrounding material. The plate itself stands at 13.5 mm thick. Edit: After receiving and testing the device, I uploaded Version 2 on January 10th, making adjustments to the hole sizes and placement. This should resolve any issues that arose from the initial design. My friend took a test print home, checking if the holes for his original doorbell align properly. With no apparent problems, this custom creation is now ready for use. Edit: On January 13th, I uploaded Version 2.1, which made some adjustments to accommodate the printer's bed constraints by simply rotating the design so it lies flat on the surface. Edit: Today, February, I uploaded Version 5, incorporating my friend's latest requirement to position the doorbell above his current one due to a screw in the wood trim getting in the way.
