Designed a Mounting Solution for Ring 2 Doorbell recently after finding none that worked well with my vinyl siding and existing doorbell wiring. This solution is specifically tailored for 4" slat siding, which is very common in my area. To accommodate doors on the opposite side of the house, simply mirror this design. If you plan to hardwire your Ring 2 Doorbell, position the wiring roughly in the center of each slat, as this will make installation much easier. You'll need longer mounting screws for this project, but I've countersunk the holes so regular decking screws can be used instead - just be sure they're at least 2" (5cm) long to ensure a secure fit.
