Rigidbot Titan extruder mount w/ Volcano hotend
thingiverse
I couldn't find a suitable extruder mount to use the E3d titan extruder with the V6 and volcano hotend, so I just made one myself. This custom mount comes equipped with everything you'll ever need for your hotend, including a Z-sensor probe mount, cooling fan mount, halo light mount for hotend, and layer cooling fan mount. I recommend printing everything in ABS or higher quality material. A separate rectangular piece is designed for the belt connector, which I left out on its own as it may not be necessary depending on your specific setup. The models are packed into one large file, but I strongly advise printing each part individually to ensure optimal results. The cooling fan is snugly fitted but works perfectly in place, while the layer cooling fan might require some shaving of its snap connectors. To assemble everything, you'll need M3 x 16mm screws for the layer cooling fan, as well as two small zip ties to secure the halo light. I salvaged these parts from various components of my printer. The motor platform is secured using four screws sourced from an old bearing mount, and two additional screws hold the light in place. The Z-probe requires two screws taken from a plastic panel on the frame's side, while the 40mm fan uses screws from the original extruder. To adjust the Z-sensor probe offset, I set X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER to 11 and Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER to -44. This is just a starting point for fine-tuning your setup. Additionally, I revised the probing sections as follows: LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION = 50, RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION = 190, BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION = 170, and FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION = 50. I remixed these models to create this custom extruder mount: Cooling fan: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:988310 Extruder/hotend mount: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1522911 Bearing mounts: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:430288 Adjustable belt connector platform: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:793499 Halo light: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-headlight-accent-lights/led-angel-eye-headlight-accent-lights-cob/2797/ Yes, this design does take away from some Z-printing area, but I print mostly at lower heights. Feel free to modify and improve upon my work in progress. UPDATE #1: The layer cooling model has been updated for better fitment and reduced "hack job" appearance. It's also shorter and angled for improved performance. UPDATE #2: The Z-sensor probe mount has been revised with improved design and stronger construction. Simply reprint the new z-sensor mount, as it replaces the previous version. UPDATE #3: I've revamped the entire design to make it more modular and efficient. This new version is easier to assemble and disassemble, with better fitment and a simpler design. However, I haven't printed it yet, so use at your own risk. The experimental .stl file is called X2.
