Rigidbot E3D V6 Simple Mount
thingiverse
A versatile mount for the E3D V6 hotend is provided. Although it is not completely lossless, a minimal amount of Z movement is lost (2-3 mm). This mount allows users to retain the original E3D V6 fan and fan shroud, as well as utilize the original aluminum head plate for maximum strength. To use this mount, you will need to trim the aluminum head plate (see image), but no additional parts are required. All necessary screws are reused from the Rigidbot originals. I designed this mount because other designs that retain the original aluminum head plate secure the mount on the plate by screwing directly into the plastic mount. This can cause weakening over time as the plastic is stripped by repeated tightening and removal. In contrast, this design allows for the mount to be secured from the top using the original screws that attach the plate to the linear bearing. For those who want to create their own custom mount, "assembly.stl" contains crude models of the Rigidbot extruder assembly and the E3D V6 hotend. These were created to aid in designing the mount and ensure that there are no interferences between parts.
