Rigid Table Sander Second Dust Port and Shroud
thingiverse
This allows adding a second 2.5-inch dust port onto my Rigid sander. This upgrade better matches the airflow requirements for my 4-inch dust collector. If you check out my 4-inch PVC dust collector project, I have a splitter to go from 4 inches to two 2.5-inch connectors. The walls of this design are fairly thin, so I would print with 90% infill. To add strength, put a washer under the nut and on top of the printer part. The lid can be glued on, then sand the dust port connector piece until it fits into the hole on the shroud. Don't force it or you will crack the wall. After everything is in place, run a bead of silicone around the joint between the wall and the hose adapter, and also along the bottom of the shroud since the surface of the table is uneven when you have the 90-degree stop attached to the sander underneath. Don't worry if the back part of the sander belt touches the shroud; it will just sand itself flush when you run the sander.
