Rigid / Shopvac to 4" dryer vent adapter
thingiverse
The adapter converts the rigid shopvac to a 4" vent used by the dryer exhaust, allowing me to blow lint and debris out during vent cleaning. I use a 4" PVC cap from Lowes or Home Depot for about $2 and cut a hole with a soldering iron, then drill three holes to mount it. There are six holes on the adapter, but only three are needed, and the others serve as a backup. Before inserting the adapter, I apply silicone around the ring to create a seal. My metal vent outlet has an irregular shape, not a perfect circle, so I add multiple layers of duct tape inside the PVC cap for a better seal, as shown in the picture. The hole diameter was measured for my newer Rigid hose and designed as a tight fit. Each machine has different tolerances, and if it's too tight for yours, you'll need to sand it down or enlarge it before printing. Shopvac hoses should fit fine since they have smaller diameters than the rigid ones.
