Rigid Heddle Reeds
thingiverse
The provided print files consist of 200mm segments, approximately eight inches in length, specifically designed for use with a rigid heddle loom and a matching rigid heddle reed. To set up these prints, attach them to a sturdy frame featuring a narrow slot measuring one-eighth inch wide and routed three-eighths inch deep. The setup enables seamless integration of multiple sections for an even wider weaving area. A versatile SCAD file has been parameterized for easy modification by simply adjusting some key variables, as indicated in the provided SCAD document instructions. A photograph depicts a heddle utilizing four sections of seven-and-a-half dent reeds measuring 100mm each, achieving a total weaving width of approximately sixteen inches. These segments were printed using natural ABS color with an optimal 50% infill for improved strength and durability. A note added on June nineteenth: Additional details concerning the clamp visible in the photograph can be found in the comments section.
