Surface scan of a right whale dolphin skull from the D'Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum at the University of Dundee reveals fascinating details. The specimen on display is Lissodelphis sp., measuring 46cm in length, cataloged as DUNUC 1961. Using an Artec Space Spider surface scanner, researchers captured high-resolution data, exporting it as an obj file for further analysis in Zbrush software. During the scanning process, intricate textures are recorded and converted into Polypaint in Zbrush, enabling a rich visual representation of the specimen's unique features.
