As Stephen Christy from Michigan State University, I've redesigned a screwdriver that innovatively screws and unscrews from a right angle. The gears in my design transmit 90-degree rotations to the screw, while a double-sided bit caters to various screw heads. This Right-Angle Screwdriver resolves issues with standard screwdrivers in small spaces, offering versatility for most screwdriver uses. For detailed information, refer to the PDF "Stephen Christy Extreme Redesign Screwdriver". My professor, Katherine Stevenson, guided me through this project for the Extreme Redesign Challenge. The challenge required creativity and innovation, which I achieved by redesigning the traditional screwdriver. My Right-Angle Screwdriver offers a solution to reach hard-to-reach screws in small spaces where conventional screwdrivers fail. The innovative design of my Right-Angle Screwdriver uses gears for 90-degree rotation transmission, ensuring ease and efficiency. Additionally, the double-sided bit with two different heads caters to diverse screw types. This redesigned screwdriver is not only a solution for small spaces but also offers versatility for most other screwdriver uses. Please consult the PDF "Stephen Christy Extreme Redesign Screwdriver" for more in-depth information about this revolutionary Right-Angle Screwdriver. Under the guidance of my professor, Katherine Stevenson, I have successfully completed this project as part of the Extreme Redesign Challenge.
