Right angle mount for Takahashi plate to dovetail

<p>I like the neat little alt-az mount that came with a Skywatcher 130P and I wanted to use it with my small Takahashi scope too. The mount uses a standard dovetail clamp to fasten to the original 6" reflector. The Takahashi scope came with a clamshell that can mount &nbsp;with a standard camera fastening bolt (¼-20 UNC) and I have been using it on a photographic tripod with a ball head (not recommended).&nbsp;</p><p>This is simply a short dovetail bar with a photographic mount at right angles. If your mount has the locating holes then you can print the two locating buttons and fasten them in place with M3 nuts and bolts. If you don't have them, ignore. I made them detachable so that the print could be made with the platform down, resulting in a stronger print to support the telescope. If printed sitting up with the dovetail flat, the layer lines would naturally run across the mount and breakage would be far more likely. The flexibility of being able to leave the locating buttons off is nice too.</p><p>Something very similar to this would enable use of a SLR on this same mount but the mounting hole in this part is too close to the dovetail, the SLR body would not fit. This is intentional so that the telescope is hanging on the end of as short a lever as possible. If you need something with SLR clearance just drop a line I could remodel it. Note that even if the surface of the printed part was raised above the top of the alt-az mount it would still obstruct when tilted forward or back far enough - it has to move away from the dovetail.</p><p>Because you want this to be solid in operation and because your dovetail mount may drive a bolt into the plastic to lock it in, print with 100% infill. I used 0.30 layer height, Prusament PETG Jet Black.</p>
