Right Angle 12mm rod connector

Right Angle 12mm rod connector

This is a mounting fixture to hold two 12mm diameter rods at right angles to each other. It uses two M4 bolts and two nuts to clamp onto the two rods. I used one M4x12 and one M4x16. They are different because of the 45 degree split angle I used on one end to allow it to print reasonably cleanly without using support. I still ran a 12mm drill through the holes after printing, to bring the diameter to a more accurate value. Printed in PLA at 75% fill factor turns out basically solid and the connected rods feel pretty rigid. I'm using this in an optical bench setup and it seems adequate for that. The original was done in OnShape and is called RightAngleConnector12mm. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/1c9884387b7d7d4f37690aed/w/dac01881afafc751f2c9e4cc/e/3a975b88203dac613c476958
