Rigging Pins
thingiverse
These are the Aileron Rigging Pins for Piper PA28 and similar small aircraft, extracted from a PA28-180 AMM section 5. I increased their thickness by .063 inches (1/16") for added strength without altering dimensions that affect pin fit into the airframe. These rig pins can be fabricated in the field if necessary, following the procedures outlined in the AMM. To ensure accuracy, they must be printed with precise measurements and verified using a calibrated measuring tool such as a micrometer or vernier caliper. Only licensed aircraft mechanics or those under direct supervision from one should use this tooling. Furthermore, users must strictly follow the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) procedures to maintain airworthiness of the aircraft. I am not responsible for anyone's misuse of this information; my intention is to provide a 3D-printed platform for mechanics to access AMM details easily. Remember, aircraft maintenance involves serious risks and ignoring published procedures can lead to severe consequences, including death.
