With Bitcoin, miners use special software to solve math problems and receive a certain number of bitcoins in exchange. This innovative approach provides a smart way to issue the currency and also creates an incentive for more people to mine. Learn all about crypto-currency at: https://www.weusecoins.com/ This is my 6 GPU mining rig working on ethOS at 166.7 MH/s, bringing me 0.1 ETH per week, which translates to approximately $250 in euros per month, considering the current price of Ethereum (1 ETH = $650). My electricity consumption of 900 hours costs around $70 per month, leaving me with a profit of $250 after deducting my electricity expenses. I built this rig using simple construction techniques and perforated angles purchased from a hardware store. I used screws M4 and M6 for the frame, while the bottom plate can be made of PMMA or plexiglass. I personally opted for a fiberglass-reinforced panel. Some junction parts were printed in 3D on an Ultimaker. The cards are inclined at 45 degrees to ensure optimal airflow and provide an out-of-the-box design. The temperature of each card remained around 65 degrees, with fan speeds ranging between 17% and 33%, allowing me to place the rig in a standard office setting. To configure my Asus Z270P Prime motherboard to use 6 GPUs, follow these steps: First, download or update to the latest BIOS version. Press F1 to enter the BIOS settings. Inside the BIOS, press F7. Go to Advanced and disable all Platform Misc Configuration options. Navigate to System Agent Configuration -> DMI/OPI Configuration and change DMI Max Link Speed to Gen2. Go back to PEG Port Configuration and set all to Gen2, with PCIe Spread set to Auto (Last setting). Return to Advanced and go to PCH Configuration -> PCI Express Configuration. Set PCIE Speed to Gen2. Do not modify any M2 settings in the BIOS. Optional steps: Disable the onboard audio card. Avoid attempting this configuration on Windows as it was unstable for me, resulting in daily server crashes. ethOS is a significant time-saver.
