A suppressor (silencer) for 6.5 Creedmoor or .243 caliber rifles. Silencers do not make a gun silent, they simply suppress the sound. When hunting, it is important to be able to listen to the surroundings. If you are wearing ear plugs you can't effectively listen. A silencer suppresses the sound enough that you can shoot your rifle without wearing earplugs or other ear protection. ***CAUTION*** In the United States you MUST have a tax stamp from the ATF before you can begin to build your own suppressor. If you build this suppressor without the tax stamp, you face up to a $100,000 fine AND 10 years in prison. This is no joke. It is easier to fill out ATF Form 1 and send in your $250. Then you will have to wait between six months and a year. PLEASE check all local, State and Federal laws before beginning to build this.Titanium is the best material to build from. Stainless steel can be used. 4130 steel is inexpensive and will make a nice suppressor but not as light as titanium.
