
Rifle Shooting and Maintenance Stand

This is a home-made 3D printed / steel construction gun stand. Easy to build and cost less than $50. It has many of the same features as commercial versions and then some. Purchased Materials/Hardware 1 pc 1”x1”x48” x 1/8” Square Steel Tubing (cut into 3pcs: 5”, 16”, 27”) 1 pc 3/16” x 12” threaded rod – course thread (cut into 3 pcs at 3 1⁄2” ea) 6 pc 1⁄2” OD Hex nuts (course thread to match threaded rod) 2 pc 3/16” x 1 1/2 “ Hex bolts 1 pc 3/16” x 3 1⁄4” hex bolt 2 pc flange washers 1 pc Spray Paint (I used Automotive Hight Temp Caliper Paint) Felt Pads for the front and rear stock holder and padded feet (optional) Assembly: Cut and weld the square tubing as shown to make you frame. Drill the holes in the ends of the frame as shown Sand and paint the frame. Cut the threaded rod into 3 1⁄2” lengths Grind or file then ends to a point on one end then slightly beveled on the other. Thread and glue the threaded rods into the Height Adjust Knobs (it may be necessary to tap the threads for the first 1⁄2”) Insert the hex bolts into the Oval Knobs Press fit the hex nuts into the locking knobs Insert the Tubing end-caps with their associated hex nuts into the 4 exposed tube ends. Insert a hex nut into the pocket of the Butt Stock Sliding mount then slide it onto the frame. (long end first) Assemble the stand. Finally thread on the smooth feet onto the bottom of the adjustable feet.
