The Red-Blue Chair is an iconic design by Rietveld, created in 1917. By using 13 square-profiled battens and two rectangular armrests, he simplified the traditional armchair and accentuated its functionality. The addition of red, blue, yellow, and black colors around 1923 further distinguished this piece, along with the removal of side panels. This design was influenced by Rietveld's involvement in De Stijl, where he also showcased colored interiors.
