Ridgid Magnetic Side Holder for Full-Sized Bits

Credit ======= This thing has been remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4695005. My version allows the bits to pass all the way through one side and out the other. Rare earth magnets are required. Summary =========== Use this thing to hold 3 additional hex bits on a Ridgid 18V battery drill. It is made to hold the longer 2" (50mm) hex bits. It has cylindrical cuts for each bit (2 on the front and 2 on the back) so that rate earth magnetics (max. 7mm diameter) can be glued to hold the bits. The stock screw should mount this perfectly, but if you need a mounting screw, use a 4 mm (M4) screw that is 6 to 7 mm long. Notes ====== * depending on the strength of your magnets, only 2 may be needed. I only needed 2. You will want some magnetics or the bits will fall out. * can 3D print this in just about any hard (PLA, PETG, ABS, nylon) or or soft material (TPU). A soft material might be good to reduce marring when your drill rubs against objects * I printed it with supports touching build plate, but you might be able to print it without supports on your printer. * It fits over the 2 AH and 4 AH 18V batteries I had, but I suspect it should fit all the other sizes as well * Use a glue of your choice to hold in the magnets, but I prefer Magic Goop (very strong glue, but it can later be removed if you ever want to). Epoxy, hot glue and Welders glue would also probably work. Model ======== The model for this was generated by importing the original object into Tinkercad, editing in Tinkercad, then exporting.
