This adapter is for the Ridgid 3-inch x 18-inch Heavy Duty Variable Speed Belt Sander. It will allow you to attach the tool to a 2.5 inch vacuum line for dust collection. I use a rockler and this works very well, but other lines are available. The ID tapers slightly allowing for a nice friction fit onto the vacuum hose.
