I decided to take on the Rick & Morty flipper bushing problem myself. I tried just lowering the flipper ring, but as someone on here predicted it played better but it would "golf" the balls upward lobbing them occasionally. I tried to trim the bushing as many suggest, but wasn't happy with my ability to cut it perfectly level or the right height to keep things level. I thought I was super clever by thinking I could just offset the bushing with washers between it and the flipper bracket, and that almost worked beautifully but then it interfered with the end of stroke switch. In the end I 3D-printed these little offset blocks. I made them 0.15" tall, which sets the bushing to stick just barely above the playfield minimizing the flipper to playfield clearance while being safely avoiding any chance of rubbing.
