Easily mountable and movable filament spool holder designed specifically for Joel "3D Nerd" contest participants. This innovative design allows the holder to slide along any wall of shelves, effortlessly slipping between outer rims of spools already in place. A sturdy rail connection on the outer shelf ensures stability, while a long triangular section provides added support by resting against the bottom of the inner rail. The objective was clear: create a filament spool holder that's easy to print, requires no supports and features 20% infill (you may even get away with less). This design easily withstands the weight of full spools. Its simplicity makes it straightforward to use and move, adapting seamlessly to a wide variety of spools. This versatile spool holder accommodates different diameter holes and up to 75mm wide spools, ensuring secure retention thanks to its retainer lip that prevents rolls from falling off. The roll rotates smoothly but not too freely, preventing unwinding due to momentum. Initially designed as a two-piece snap-together model for small build plates, version one was later refined into the stronger and easier-to-print single-piece design submitted here. This version successfully printed on an old Reprap home build despite its smaller diagonal printing capabilities. It also proved significantly easier to print on a modern CR-10.
