sketchfab
This fossilized camel or horse ribbone features telltale signs of human-induced cuts and is estimated to be between 12,000 and 14,000 years old. The artifact was unearthed at Tule Springs National Monument in Nevada. On January 12, 2017, the bone underwent a 3D scan at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner. Dr. Bernard K. Means of Virginia Commonwealth University's Virtual Curation Laboratory spearheaded this endeavor as part of a unique project supported by Smithsonian Affiliations in Washington, D.C.
