The drive behind this play set was fueled by several key factors: My affinity for these shapes and their intricate assembly process drew me in. Getting PLA printing correctly on my extended machine had also become an urgent necessity, given that I had expanded the build surface without augmenting the heater PCB's size. To accurately calibrate and test the new settings, a precision test piece was necessary. In December, I received a sample set of colored PLA from Faberdashery, and the opportunity to showcase the vibrant range of hues in one design became too enticing to pass up. The pieces within this play set posed a challenge due to their 45-degree angles and minuscule corners, which tend to warp upwards unless properly cooled and contacted with the build platform early on. Fortunately, I already had a multitude of 20mm cubes that I could incorporate into my creation.
