The small rhombicuboctahedron is a polyhedron that belongs to the class of Archimedean bodies. It consists of 8 equilateral triangles and 18 squares, where 3 squares and 1 triangle form each space corner. Each of the 8 edges of the rhombicuboctahedron forms an edge of a regular octagon. There are six independent, equilateral octagons in this polyhedron. The name of the rhombicuboctahedron comes from the fact that 12 of the 18 squares are congruent to 12 rhombs of a circumscribed rhombicosidodecahedron. The dual body of the rhombicuboctahedron is the deltoidal hexecontahedron.
